Next week’s Supernatural is sure to be full of comedy as Sam swaps bodies with a nerdy teenage boy. Since Dean is always mocking his little brother for being a nerd, I’m guessing it will take a while for him to catch on.
The CW has released a clip from the episode, titled “Swap Meat,” that should give fans a pretty good taste of what’s to come.
The first thing I notice is that Supernatural is letting Sam play his brain trapped in the boy’s body while guest star Colton James is playing Sam. Body swap movies and TV shows are all different in terms of how they show us who does what. Personally, I think it would be funnier to see Jared Padalecki as the nerdy boy trapped in Sam’s body, but I guess that won’t be as big a part of it as I’d hoped.
On the bright side, we already have a frontrunner for favorite line of next week’s episode: “One leather jacket, one Sasquatch.” Check out the clip:
A demon is feasting on mental patients and the Winchester brothers check themselves in.
Something is feeding on crazies at a mental facility and the Winchester brothers go in to investigate on the latest episode of SUPERNATURAL, entitled “Sam, Interrupted.”
And it was a straight stand-alone episode pretty much outside the mythology of the series that we have seen so far this season with the rise of Lucifer and hell on Earth coming.
Now, we did get a good bit of revelations about why Sam (Jared Padalecki) is just so damn angry all the time and he comes to the realization that it is his fault, he has been blaming everyone and everything for his own issues – the demon blood, Ruby, the apocalypse, name it. Instead, he should be blaming himself for having gotten himself into this situation and what’s happening everywhere.
That came at the end and it is almost too bad that they didn’t focus on the mythology a bit more in the first episodes since November since while we didn’t forget, so much has happened it would be nice to see a little progression of the series.
The fifth season of Supernatural has left us with plenty of mysteries to chew on while the show takes a long holiday break: Where is God? What or who else can’t be killed by the Colt? What will happen to Lucifer and the Apocalypse? These questions will be haunting fans until Supernatural returns for the rest of its fifth season. In the meantime, check out our spoilers after the jump, and you’ll find what you need to prepare yourself for the show’s return on January 21.
When we last saw Supernatural, the Winchester brothers attempted to kill Lucifer with the Colt only to discover that it can’t kill him. Lucifer then sacrificed several demons to summon Death, while Castiel managed to free himself from his trap and took the brothers to Bobby’s where they silently grieve over Ellen and Jo’s death.
Every time CW president Dawn Ostroff takes questions from the press, we always get the same debate: will there be a sixth season for Supernatural?
Over the weekend, Ostroff spoke at the January press tour for the Television Critics Association, and once again she was asked whether season 6 is going to happen for Supernatural. While there’s little new in her answer, things are definitely looking up for fans who want more Sam and Dean.
Ostroff talked about how pleased she is with the creativity of the writers this season, the boost in ratings, particularly among women, and the fact that Supernatural is a very good fit with the network’s newest hit, The Vampire Diaries.
She also talked about creator Eric Kripke. While every fan knows that he came into the show with a five-year plan, Ostroff believes he has more than enough talent and creativity to keep Supernatural going, as does his writing staff. According to her, Kripke is keeping a very open mind about a possible season 6.
