According to several sources, including buddytv.com, Supernatural was named Favorite Sci-Fi/Fantasy Show at this year’s People’s Choice Awards. Congrats! It was about time though.

P.S.: Other than that, congratulations to Jared and Genevieve, it’s kinda off-Jensen-topic, but the Supernatural family has to stick together ;D

Five seasons in and Supernatural is delivering some of its best episodes yet. Ghosts & demons, the imminent apocalypse, Paris Hilton… There’s something for everyone. The terrific third series of Torchwood came a close second.

Well, well. Today was an interesting experiment in the power of social media – or should I say, the insanity.

Yesterday, I posted a short, funny (or so I thought) piece about what would be on TV in the year 2025. I figured instead of looking back as most people do this time of year, I’d look into the future. I used my CRYSTAL BALL to see CSI: Mars, a 5-year old Doctor Who and Jensen and Jared on the Simpsons (NOT!).

Several people chose to take only the line about the boys and republish it on Twitter, sans the whole “Crystal Ball 2025 TV season” part and it went wild from there. Anyone who read the WHOLE article understood the context. Unfortunately, as it made its way around the internet, that context was lost.

It was a joke – Jensen and Jared are not going to be on The Simpsons.

According to sfuniverse.com The Simpsons has a very special “Treehouse of Horrors” planned for this year. It will feature the voices of Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki and the guys from Ghost Hunters.

Spoilers to wet the appetite of the hungry Supernatural fan during the long holiday hiatus.

Spoilers appear to be trickling in from various sources such as Ausiello and E!Online among other random sources.

Superntaural fans have begun to refer to the long hiatus as Hellatus and with the original return date changed from January 14 to January 21 the wait seems so far away that the term Hellatus is very justified. However, all is not lost as spoilers begin to come out to let fans/viewers know a little of what is coming for them once Season 5 returns on January 21, 2010 at 9 PM (EST).

Supernatural will be treating fans with a horrifying episode that explores the nature of love and desire just in time for Valentine’s Day. Not much has been revealed about the episode back then except for the fact that it’s entitled “My Bloody Valentine.” Recently, however, more details have surfaced.

Last night’s episode of Supernatural ended with prophet and Supernatural book series author Chuck telling his fans “It’s not Jumping the Shark if you never come back down.” At first I really wanted to think this was a joke, but the more I think about it, the more I realize it’s not. Supernatural really is Jumping the Shark.

For weeks I’ve been trying to defend and rationalize Supernatural’s recent increase in comedy. Cas visited a whorehouse. Future Cas smoked pot. Abraham Lincoln, Gandhi, Paris Hilton, the Tooth Fairy and the Incredible Hulk have all turned up. Supernatural parodied CSI and Grey’s Anatomy. And finally, Sam and Dean attended a Supernatural fan convention. A while ago I wrote an article defending the show’s use of comedy. I would now like to retract that statement.

The sad truth is that Supernatural is a different show, one easily distracted by funny ideas and self-aware storylines. It’s easy to pinpoint the moment of lift-off, the episode where Supernatural began its extended shark-jumping trip: “The Monster at the End of This Book.”
